The History of Rome Real Estate
ROME Real Estate Group was founded in 2021 by Chase Burke and Andy Jonsson, who have been working together in the Greater Sacramento Area commercial real estate market for several years. The name “ROME” has a unique and personal origin story: Chase’s two boys are named Maxwell and Romeo, while Andy’s two girls are named Ella and Olivia. By combining the first letters of their children’s names, the founders created the acronym “ROME.”
The name ROME is not only meaningful because it represents the owners’ children and strong family values, but it also embodies the ideals of strength, history, and success associated with the city of Rome, Italy. ROME Real Estate Group was built on the values of strong family ties, community involvement, and exceptional service. Chase and Andy have a shared commitment to building something of enduring value, a legacy they are determined to create through ROME Real Estate Group’s services and the quality of ROME’s work. Despite being a relatively new company, ROME Real Estate Group has quickly established itself as a premier commercial brokerage in the Greater Sacramento Area, known for its commitment to integrity, transparency, and exceptional client service.

CHASE BURKE
Chase Burke is a Partner and co-founder of ROME Real Estate Group. Specializing in the leasing and sales of retail commercial properties in the Greater Sacramento Area, Chase brings valuable experience to every transaction.
Chase launched his career in commercial real estate in 2016 at Ethan Conrad Properties, Inc. Within a span of five years, he progressed from an Associate to the Senior Vice President of Retail Properties, before co-founding ROME Real Estate Group in 2021.
Over the course of his career, Chase has successfully closed over 650 transactions, totaling more than 1.7 million square feet, with a total transaction volume exceeding $120 million.
While at Ethan Conrad Properties, Chase earned the Broker of the Year Award three times (2017, 2019, 2020). He also received the Sacramento Association of Commercial Real Estate’s (ACRE) Rookie of the Year Award in 2017 and ACRE’s Next Gen Retail Broker of the Year Award in 2019.
Born and raised in Sacramento, Chase has real estate in his blood. His parents own and operate their own residential real estate brokerage in the area. Chase obtained his license and started closing deals in 2010 while he was still in college at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS).
Chase thoroughly enjoys the business and takes great satisfaction in working with his clients to achieve their goals.
Andy Jonsson
Andy Jonsson is a Partner and co-founder of ROME Real Estate Group, Inc.
A Sacramento native and a graduate of Christian Brothers High School and California State University Sacramento (Sacramento State University), Andy blends a dynamic career in commercial real estate and accounting. Andy graduated from Sacramento State University and majored in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Accounting Information Systems. Andy is a proud member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Association of Commercial Real Estate. His journey in the professional realm began at a major national accounting firm which culminated as a manager with the CPA certification (expired). Andy oversaw large teams engaging in financial audit and consulting services for medium to large sized companies and not for profits across various sectors, including Food & Agriculture, Oil and Gas, and Healthcare.
Transitioning into commercial real estate in 2018, Andy rapidly ascended to Vice President of Brokerage at Ethan Conrad Properties. His remarkable track record encompasses personally brokering hundreds of commercial real estate transactions including representing landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers. Andy’s expertise lies in investment sales, identifying value-add commercial real estate opportunities, and leasing commercial properties in Northern California and the Central Valley. His deep understanding of real estate markets, combined with his accounting acumen, positions him uniquely in the industry, making him a pivotal asset to ROME Real Estate Group and its clients.
Andy lives in Sacramento with his wife and two young children and currently sits as the Board Chairman of the not-for-profit Easters Seals Superior California.

Dave CARLSEN
After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and spending four years with Triage Consulting Group, Dave began his career as an Associate with Avison Young Commercial Real Estate. He was recognized as Regional Rookie of the Year and was a finalist for Sacramento ACRE Rookie of the Year. Now an experienced professional, he has closed over 210 lease and sale transactions in the Greater Sacramento Area.
He spent an additional 4 years as a partner at Carlsen O’Connell Commercial Real Estate before joining Rome. Dave’s clients value his responsiveness and his genuine concern for their businesses’ best interests. Dave is an active participant in Social Venture Partners, previously on the Orangevale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and passionate about supporting local non-profits.
He lives happily with his wife and one year old daughter who love him enough endure non-stop conversations about real estate. Dave enjoys playing guitar at local open mic nights and passionately discussing the Sacramento Kings with anyone willing to listen.
Kimberly Morphis
Kimberly Morphis is a highly experienced and dedicated professional in the commercial real estate industry. With almost a decade of expertise, she stands out among other agents with her unique perspective gained from her 16-year tenancy in the hospitality industry. Kimberly’s commitment to exceptional customer service sets her apart, ensuring seamless transactions and mutually beneficial outcomes for all parties.
Some of Kimberly’s remarkable achievements include owner-user sales at 4770 Rocklin Rd & 1149 West Sunset, 950 Reserve plus a decade-long leases at 241 Blue Ravine & 9611 Greenback Ln. Her 25-year residency in Folsom makes her an undisputed expert in the local business arena. She prides herself on helping businesses thrive in Folsom & beyond, with a special emphasis on the HWY 50 Corridor. In addition to listings, she is particularly proud of her Tenant Representation clients like Beach Hut Deli, 24 Hour Kitchens, Arthur Murray & Creamy’s by Cayla Jordon.
BROOKS R. BORROR
Brooks Borror is the President and founder of Commercial Consultants, Inc. (CCI), a distinguished presence within the commercial real estate sector and an industry leader serving clients in California and Hawaii. With decades of industry experience, Brooks has established himself as a seasoned expert in the leasing and sales of retail centers as well as assisting expanding retail tenants in identifying optimal locations. He has proven to be highly effective and instrumental in major capital markets transactions in both the California and Hawaii markets, including sales for KIMCO, Alexander & Baldwin and other major owners. During his tenure at CCI, he propelled the company into the ranks of the top 10 producing commercial real estate firms in Hawaii for several consecutive years, a recognition endorsed by Business Journal.
Brooks’ real estate approach is firmly rooted in his transparency, accessibility, a deep understanding of clients’ requirements, and the consistent delivery of exceptional results. His extensive network, spanning both the mainland and Hawaii, allowed CCI to establish a substantial presence in both local and national markets, serving the needs of sellers, buyers, and retailers alike.

Brooks’s extensive background also includes his tenure as Vice President and Partner at Bollenbacher & Kelton Development for over a decade, where he headed up acquisitions, leasing, and management of company-owned assets in California, in excess of 2,000,000 square feet.
Following the tremendous growth of multiple emerging markets in California, in 2023, Brooks expanded the breadth of his work to the Northern California market, bringing with him a wealth of commercial real estate expertise and a strategic affiliation with the ROME Real Estate Group.

Ulysses Laman
We are delighted to welcome Ulysses Laman as a Senior Associate on our retail leasing team at ROME Real Estate Group. Originally from Queens, NY, Ulysses relocated to Sacramento in February 2017 and has since established a notable presence in the local real estate market.
Ulysses joins us from Ethan Conrad Properties, where he started in October 2021. He quickly made a significant impact, advancing from Associate Broker to Senior Associate Broker within a year. During his tenure, Ulysses completed over 150 transactions, demonstrating his exceptional skills in managing a comprehensive portfolio.
With over 11 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, including deployments to Iraq and Saudi Arabia, Ulysses brings a unique and disciplined background to our team. His military service has instilled a strong work ethic and dedication to mission, which he continues to uphold as a Unit Commander of a logistics company at B.T. Collins Army Reserve Center.
Ulysses recently earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from UC Davis, deepening his understanding of business strategy, finance, and management. This advanced degree further enhances his ability to deliver exceptional results for our clients.

Michael Pearson
Michael specializes in deal procurement, relationship management, landlord and tenant representation, leasing, and sales of retail commercial properties in the Greater Sacramento Area. Michael brings valuable experience to every transaction.
Michael Pearson is a veteran, still serving in the US Army Reserves. Michael also brings experience in Franchise Brokering, Entrepreneurship, Tax, Financial Accounting, Business Development, Mergers & Acquisitions, Exits, Apparel, and Mortgage Lending. Michael strives to add value to ROME Real Estate Group through growth and business development.
A native of Sacramento, Michael has real estate as the center of his foundation. Michael derives the most enjoyment through achieving results for clients, building new valuable long-term relationships, finding deals for investors, and is known for starting, finding, and maturing opportunities.
ELLIS THOMAS
Ellis Thomas is a broker associate of ROME Real Estate Group.
Ellis Thomas is a dedicated broker associate of ROME Real Estate Group. Born and raised in the East Bay Area, Ellis moved to Sacramento to pursue his collegiate career at Sacramento State University. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration, specializing in finance, in May 2023.
Ellis was drawn to ROME following an on-campus presentation given by Andy Jonsson and Chase Burke, the founders of ROME. His professional journey began at a Fortune 500 company in 2018, but he later transitioned to gain valuable experience in the Office of the President at Sacramento State and the commercial real estate industry at ROME Real Estate Group.
In addition to his academic achievements, Ellis has obtained his sales real estate license and is currently focusing on landlord and tenant representation lease services. Committed to providing operational support in the offices of ROME, Ellis is dedicated to benefiting both the team and clients with his expertise and dedication.
STAN YEVTUSHENKO
Stanislav Yevtushenko was born in Ukraine and raised in Sacramento, California. In 2022, he began his career as a residential real estate agent and quickly proved to be a natural in the industry. In his first year, he closed an impressive $4 million in transactions, setting the stage for his future success. Stan’s early success in residential real estate led him to transition into the world of commercial real estate.
Over the years, Stan has built a successful career in real estate, earning the trust and respect of his clients and peers. His unwavering commitment to providing exceptional service and delivering results has made him a sought-after agent in the Sacramento area and beyond. With this credential, he’s entrusted with the production of comprehensive video and photographic material for the entirety of ROME’s real estate portfolio.
Further extending his repertoire of skills, Timofey also manages the 3D scanning process to create high-quality, immersive virtual tours for ROME’s listings. ESFIR YEVTUSHENKO
Esfir Yevtushenko, a dedicated professional and the Brokerage and Marketing Coordinator at ROME Real Estate Group, brings a wealth of experience and a solid academic background to her role. A graduate of Sacramento State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Esfir has honed her skills in social media and marketing, creating engaging materials for all listings, and managing administrative tasks for the brokerage.
Before her promotion, Esfir balanced her part-time role at ROME with her studies, demonstrating her commitment and versatility. She has held her Loan Mortgage License and Real Estate License since 2021, which further enhances her capabilities in the real estate sector.
Esfir’s experience extends to providing comprehensive support for real estate transaction services, including the acquisition, sale, management, and leasing of commercial real estate properties. She is adept at preparing marketing materials and social media content, drafting lease agreements, amendments, and renewals, and coordinating property closings. Esfir also assists in setting up and implementing ROME’s processes and procedures across all business lines, such as Property Management.
Her role also involves staying informed about real estate markets by reviewing property listings and attending industry events. Meet Sam, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in commercial property management. Throughout his career, Sam has consistently managed +/- 1.2 million square feet of commercial properties with efficiency and proficiency.
